Description

In this video I cook up a super cheap and accessible cut, the pork chop, on a charcoal grill. This grilled pork chop is super easy and delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1 pork chop
  • Kosher salt
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • -or -Your preferred rub

Instructions

  • Take the pork chop and season it generously with kosher salt on both sides.
  • Place the seasoned pork chop in the refrigerator and let it sit for a while to allow the salt to draw out some moisture.
  • Fire up the grill.
  • Remove the pork chop from the fridge and season it with black pepper and garlic powder. You can also use your preferred rub if desired.
  • Place the seasoned pork chop directly on the grill grates and sear it over high heat for a few minutes on each side. Flip the chop periodically to ensure even cooking and to achieve a nice sear.
  • Use a meat thermometer to monitor the internal temperature of the pork chop. When it reaches approximately 135 degrees Fahrenheit (57 degrees Celsius), it will continue to cook and carry over to the desired temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit (63 degrees Celsius) for pork.
  • Once the pork chop reaches the desired temperature, remove it from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes.
  • Take the pork chop off the bone and slice it up!
