This week on the Summer Grill Series I cook up a wagyu sirloin tip steak from Double 8 Cattle in Ohio.


  • Wagyu sirloin tip steak
  • Oil (e.g., white truffle oil)
  • Kosher salt
  • Black pepper
  • Granulated garlic powder


Prep the steak:
  • Start by patting the Wagyu sirloin steak dry.
  • Drizzle a small amount of oil over the steak to act as a binder. White truffle oil can be used for added flavor, but any oil of your choice will work.
  • Rub the oil into the steak to ensure it is evenly coated.
Season the steak:
  • Sprinkle kosher salt, black pepper, and granulated garlic powder on both sides of the steak. Feel free to adjust the seasoning quantities to suit your taste preferences. Any rub will do.
Fire up the grill:
  • Place the seasoned Wagyu sirloin steak on the preheated grill.
  • Cook the steak for a couple of minutes on each side, flipping it over as needed. Aim for an internal temperature of around 120°F (49°C) 
  •  Once the steak reaches your desired internal temperature, remove it from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes. 
  • Slice and dive in! You can pair with your sides of choice.
